Buenos Aires is hosting the most important public art event in the world
The capital city of Argentina has recieved, for the first and only time, the biggest public art event: CowParade Buenos Aires 2006; a spectacle that will contribute to illuminate the hearts of residents and visitors, while at the same time captivating the festive spirit of us “Porteños”.
Cow Parade is organized in Argentina by Instituto Leloir and Ediciones Larivière, and has prepared more than110 fiberglass cows in natural size over which local artists have painted and projected their artistic design. Cows are bwing exhibited for the months of March, April, May and until June 16th, 2006 around the streets, parks and public spaces of Puerto Madero District in Buenos Aires. Cows will be sold in public auction by the end of june 2006 in benefit of Instituto Leloir and Esclerosis Múltiple Argentina (EMA).
This international movement has taken place in the main cities around the world, among them Zurich, Prague, Brussels, New York, Chicago, Stockholm, Tokyo and Sydney, where the multicolored cow herds have been exhibited produced by different artists.
CowParade Buenos Aires 2006 is an open air show for all publics, that makes of Buenos Aires a real global window for art and culture allong these 4 months.
